Loretta Swit
Even though Loretta Swit gets the most credit for her role as Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan in M*A*S*H, she proved to the world that she could play any role given to her. During the ’60s, she started as a Broadway actress and appeared in Same Time, Next Year, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Mame. On television, she also made guest appearances for Mannix, Mission: Impossible, Gunsmoke, and Hawaii Five-O.
Loretta’s films include Whoops Apocalypse, Stand Up and Be Counted, Race With the Devil, Beer, and many more.Today,81-year-old Swit continues to perform in community theaters around the country while pursuing her other interests, such as painting and animal activism. In January 2017, she published Swheart: The Watercolor Artistry & Animal Activism of Loretta Swit, The proceeds of which will go to her campaign to end Animal cruelty .
