Joyce DeWitt

Even though she had always wanted to become an actress, Joyce DeWitt believed that it was still important to receive formal training. So she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from the Ball State University and earned her Master’s degree in 1974 from the University of California. While she was studying, she also worked as a secretary until she was offered her debut role in Baretta.

During 1977 to 1984, she was known for playing the character, Janet Wood in Three’s Company, alongside John Ritter and Suzanne Somers. However, It came as a complete surprise when she ended the show in 1984 and spent seveal years traveling the world. She returned to her theatrical roots in 1991. Her other film and TV appearances also include The Love Boat, Finder of Lost Loves, Call of the Wind, and many more.
