Bo Derek

Bo Derek was only 16 years old when she met her future husband, John Derek. At that time, John was 30 years older than her and was married. When they started dating, he immediately separated from his then-wife, actress Linda Evans. Despite the scandal, John continued to make films with Bo such as Bolero, Ghosts Can’t Do It, and Tarzan: the Ape Man. The films were reviewed negatively, but Bo eventually got her big break in 10. Her other films include Sunstorm, Life in the Balance, Crusader, Highland Park, and many more.

As a supporter of advocacies, she is known to donate her investment money to organizations.She is also a horse owner and activist.  As a riding enthusiast since childhood, Bo became the spokesperson for the Animal Welfare Institute’s campaign to end horse slaughter. She also has an autobiography, titled Riding Lessons: Everything that Matters in Life I Learned from Horses. Bo is also part of the California Horse Racing Board, proving her love for this animal.
