Homo antecessors compared to modern humans
It’s also known that the Homo antecessor did not have a specific physical feature that separated them from other ancient human species. However, they displayed a unique set of details, particularly in their cranium, teeth, and lower jaw area, unlike other ancient human groups. In fact, some of Homo antecessor’s traits were credited to have more resemblance to modern humans.
For example, the Homo antecessor had a brain estimated 1,000 cubic centimeters in size, whereas the modern human’s measures at 1,350cc. The Homo antecessor had a frame that was likely “similar to modern humans, but somehow, it was more robust,” as the Australian Museum’s website states. Men belonging to this species also had short stature, measuring about five foot two to five foot nine. As for the teeth eruption pattern, Homo antecessor had a similar development stage as modern humans do, although at a faster pace.
