Continuous research about protein sequences
Without question, the ancient Homo antecessor was only scraping the surface when it comes to how far research about human history could go. Cappellini still hopes, that one day, they could analyze proteins from the Homo erectus to the Australopithecus, another species of hominins that were thought to roam Africa from 4 million to 1.9 million years ago. As we previously mentioned, Lucy was one of them.
Science Daily also revealed that the University of Copenhagen has enough funding and investment planning to continue its research about protein sequences. Perhaps, the team would soon uncover many more connections involving the modern humans and the ancient species that brought us where we are today. Cappellini, for one, was extremely excited. He shared that he is really looking forward to seeing what palaeoproteomics can reveal to all of us in the near future.
